LMS Report 2009

as stacy has also said i don't have kids, i'm not married or engaged, i didn't graduate from college, but i did have a fulfilling year! So here is the LMS Report 2009 (aka my e-Christmas card).

(i know its really long, but its more for me to remember this year than to tell everyone else what im up to)

this year has been really productive for me. i started the year off right with partying with my bff taffy at the NYE dance at the hall of champions in balboa park in SD. in the winter and spring i fell in love with rain and st. bernards. i spent lots of time at barnes and noble and got back into reading. i joined netflix, which is HUGE! i loooove it. i took an english class where i fell in love with writing and found my passion. i spent a lot of time alone and forced myself to get to know what i really think and find out who i am. although im still doing a lot of it, i think i figured out a HUGE amount which has felt AMAZING! i discovered the blues and basically stopped listening to any modern music. i went and visited shelby in provo. i started to pick up the guitar.

this summer i became best friends with my twin jordyn aka j. we went to dodger stadium for my first time and plenty of padres games at petco. we watched tons of baseball, played catch and went to the beach countless times. i went on lots of "dates" aka saw david wright play baseball. we went swimming a lot and hung out together all the time. i had two house parties, in which one i drained half the pool. for 4th of july my cousins and their friends came to california and we had an AMAZING time at wild rivers and in laguna beach. it was definitely one of my best 4th of july's. i also did something that i never did, and thought i would never do...i went to PROM! hahaha, it was a cheesy mormon "prom" dance but it was made fun by going with shelby, kashia, charlie, and j. i wore a dressed with puffed sleeves...lol. my family had our annual "girls" weekend and went to disneyland where we ate at the pirates of the carribbean resturant and then went to glen ivy (not to be confused with glen eden...the nudist colony that only i voted yes to). i took the safety coarse and got my motorcycle license! i took lots of weekend trips to las vegas to see my family and hang out with my cousins. the BEST weekend while i was there, no the BEST DAY OF MY LIFE was when my bff uncle bruce and i went and saw my favorite musician and basically soul mate... ERIC CLAPTON!!!! definite highlight of the year.

in the fall j moved to apple land (aka apple valley) :( i started hanging out with stacy more and went out with megan and ashley. since then i have aquired the best friends anyone could ever ask for. i have the most AMAZING group of girlfriends which include but are not limited to; stacy, brittini, megan, ashley, cecilia, rachel, alyssa, hilda, crystal, kim and im sure i am forgetting someone so im sorry...we have many trips to LA to see awesome musicians. i have discovered trevor hall through megan and joshua james through brittini :). we went to film fesitivals and had late movies nights with los primos and some of the best conversation between girl friends. i took a public speaking class. i turned 21 and got a record player (see previous post). i semi redecorated my room. i did my first open mic night. my dad got married. i was a chola for halloween and i went whale watching with stacy.

throughout the year i have been continuing to work at racho endodontics as a dental assistant. i attended the cal oaks family ward where i served as primary presidency secretary. in november i returned to the singles ward where i am soon to have a few callings...i've been to the temple, gotten new shoes, and watched lots of movies. i continue to rent a room from jane and lavon morris and use their george foreman grill. i got a twitter and a new phone. i've gotten closer with my sister. i've seen michelle featherstone a few times live and discovered hotel cafe. i've said too many hilarious things to count. i've read tons of amazing books.

all and all i've had a pretty good year. i feel like this year i really contemplated and figured out where next to go in my life and its great. in the recent months i have become closer to my elder brother and heavenly father. im more at ease with myself and my choices through lots of questioning, pondering, anger and searching for knowledge. i know that sometimes i can be a little weird and ridiculous and sometimes im boring and unoriginal but i feel totally okay with being me because im starting to know i am.

my years proof in photos (sorry they are in random order): eric clapton and steve winwood live at the MGM Grand in las vegas.

okay, i know its been over two weeks but in case you didn't know, i had a birthday (shout hurray!) woot woot the big 2-1!!!!!

i started off my day at 7:30am so i was incredibly tired by the time 6 o'clock rolled around but i had been waiting 21 YEEEEEEEARS for this day, i was going to use my I.D.!!! so instead of staying home in my pajamas and watching a movie in bed (like my usual weekends...) my wonderful friends took me out for a night on the town!

stacy and brittini were ever so kind to plan the night for me. so stacy, brittini, ashley, kim, and celicia and i went to a dueling piano bar but turns out a party of TWENTY, thats right, 2. o. had JUST walked in and used up all the non-reserved tables for the whooooooole night. so we decided to try a sea food place kim and celicia recommended, but it turns out they were closed for a private party! finally we walked over to Citrus Grill or something like that which turned out to be awesome. and the bar turned into a "club" after 9. so we went in a danced a little after eating just so i could get carded, which totally worked. and there was some crazy nasty wasted girl in the bathroom which was gross, but entertaining.

It was a lot of fun and i really did have the best company in the world. All mentioned friends and more (including d dubs, robbie patty, and jude) contributed to a $100 gift card to guitar center! annnnnnnnd the best of eric clapton on vinyl which was amazing because i got a record player from my mother earlier that day. best. present. ever. thank you to everyone who contributed to my wonderful 21st birthday. now i can finally order that rum and coke.... HOLD DA COKE!

november 12th.

sometimes i think that i am a visual learner. sometimes i think that im a kinesthetic learner. sometimes i think i am an auditory leaner. but like almost everything else about me, i have discovered that im never just one thing, i don't feel one certain way. i am a mixture. i feel like the phrase, "its complicated" fits me very well.

but this train of thought came from audio and speech. particullary accents.
let me preface my next statement with this, i think accents are epitome of cool. i pick up on accents very easily. okay, so i think they are wicked. and i claim to "pick up on them very easily." but i insist that i do not TRY. i don't practice at home or anything, i really just do fall easily into accents. so as i was pondering the legitimancy of my easy accent talent i confirmed upon myself that its legit.
yes, im not in denile or trying too hard. i came to this conclusion because i examined not only forgein accents, but rhythm, tone and personal inflictions of people who i don't think have an "accent." growing up i remember noticing the changes in my voice and the copying of how one of my friends speak whom i spent a lot of time with, without realizing.

prime example is my best foolito forever, brittany. when i hang out with her not only is my word selection and sense of humor individualized but the rhythm and tone is different than my every day speech. this doesn't happen with everyone but if i spend a LOT of time with someone or they have a different "accent" or rhythm and tone, i am speaking to match that by the end of the day. like i previously stated, it is not something in conciously do. it naturally just happens.

another example that leads me to believe that i am an auditory learner is that i think in the same manner of how i hear things which leads me to speak the same way i am hearing or even thinking it. i once was talking to my sister on the phone and asked her, "do you ever want to use like biblical language when you talk after reading your scriptures?" to which i got the, "ummmmm.....*awkward silence* no." (ya no need for my sister to dig for evidence that i am crazy. i provide her with it without any request.) this happens to any book i read but especially the scriptures. after i am done reading i go on thinking and would naturally speak in the same type of language. thank goodness i usually catch myself and remind myself that saying, "thou art a douche bag" is not a good way to come across as sane...

so even after watching a british film, watching james mcavoy interviews on youtube (hes scottish ;) ), or hanging out with jane all day i feel myself thinking in an accent and can start to hear the accent in my voice. i notice it, its not like i can't tell but i don't conciously do anything about it. and im cool with that...

G.L.B.A. (good looking boy alert)
James McAvoy
sure he is good looking. but the high attraction is because he is smart.

and you know he is smart by his film choices.
